The Event at Rebecca Farm: Bigger and Better than Ever!

The Event at Rebecca Farm kicked off today with more than 560 horse and rider pairs descending upon the beautiful Flathead Valley of Montana. Over the course of more than a decade this competition has grown to become one of the largest in the nation. Sarah Broussard, organizer of The Event, says "The Event gets better every summer because of the efforts of so many people, from the wonderful community of volunteers, to all the riders from across the nation whose skills range from Olympians to developing riders."

Competitors travel from near and far to compete in divisions ranging from novice all the way to 3-star. When they arrive they are presented with a well-run show, outstanding footing and a world-class cross-country course designed by Scotland’s Ian Stark featuring over 150 obstacles and four water complexes. Stark has won multiple Olympic medals and was inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.

In addition, admission for spectators is free and multiple arenas offer close-up seating for dressage and show jumping. Guests are allowed to walk the cross-country course or view the 640-acre complex from two different hillsides with spectator tents. A trade fair offers a wide range of food and beverage concessions (and shopping, of course!), as well as a kid zone with face painting and pony rides.

Olympian and US eventing extraordinaire Karen O'Connor affirmes "Rebecca Farm is such an amazing venue that the Broussard family brought to fruition from crop fields, I have been competing internationally for two decades across 27 countries and Rebecca Farm is the best venue I have ever been to in the world."
